Distraction-Free Gaming

Classic puzzles built for accessibility and focus.

I originally built these games as a solution for Stephanie. We found that most mobile puzzle games today are cluttered with adverts, tracking scripts and small text that makes them difficult to play, especially for those with visual impairments.

I decided to host my own alternatives. These games run entirely on my personal server infrastructure. There are no ads, no trackers and no data mining. It is just the game, designed to be as clear and accessible as possible.

Although I designed them to work seamlessly in a mobile browser, they work just as well on a tablet or desktop computer.

[edit] There is now also a tools and utilities page.

Shadow Gems

The central 10x10 grid is filled with colourful geometric symbols, including blue stars, purple circles, blue diamonds, red squares, and green triangles. The top status bar displays a purple 'ATTACK MODE' button, alongside 'Moves: 30' and 'Score: 0'. Below the game board, a section titled 'RITUAL INSTRUCTIONS' outlines the rules: 'Invoke' explains tapping gems to swap them, and 'Align' describes creating lines of three or more matching stones to dissolve them.

Why play these versions?

Designed for Sight Impairment: Games use maximised font sizes, high-contrast colours and clear interfaces to reduce eye strain.

Support the Cause

These games are provided free of charge, utilising my own time, server resources and bandwidth. I am happy to keep them running for anyone to enjoy.

However, if you find yourself playing regularly and would like to give something back, please consider making a donation to Sight Scotland. They are Scotland’s oldest charity dedicated to tackling vision loss and they do incredible work supporting people with sight impairments.
