This website is a personal digital garden. It is designed to be lightweight, readable, and respectful of your attention.

1. The Tech Stack

Engine: Built on WordPress using the Twenty Twenty-Five theme.
Typography: The site uses Georgia for reading and your device’s native System Fonts (San Francisco, Segoe UI) for interface elements. This ensures zero font download times.
Hosting: Self-hosted and independent.

2. Privacy & Data

I do not use Google Analytics or tracking pixels. Here is what I do use:

Analytics: I use Koko Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies or store your IP address. It respects “Do Not Track” requests. The data never leaves my server.
Forms: Messages sent via the “Keep in Touch” page are processed by Formspree. They use your IP to filter spam, and the message is stored in their archive.
Guestbook and blog: Comments are checked by Antispam Bee (privacy-compliant) and stored in my WordPress database.

3. Your Rights

If you have left a comment or sent a message and want it deleted, just email me at letters@douglasireland.com. I will scrub it from the records. No questions asked.

House Rules

This is a personal space. I moderate all guestbook entries and blog comments.

I welcome disagreement, but I will delete:
• Hate speech or personal attacks.
• Commercial spam.
